I enjoy advocating but at the end of the day, it is the research that really intrigues me. For now anyway. Here is a little update on our research in Dr Bennett’s Lab at The University of Southern Indiana.
Last month Dr Bennett and I submitted our latest work on p53 and Mustard Gas (continuing his prodding into this topic) to a scientific journal for publication. This is very exciting for me as it is my first potential publication! We expect to hear something soon and probably the first of the year at the latest. Considering the peer reviewers may desire / require additional information or data. I have decided to wait until we hear from them before I go forward with additional research. The feedback from the journal, may dictate the next steps. So for the moment, we are playing the waiting game.
I would like to thank Dr Bennett for the continued opportunities in his lab. He has treated me like a peer and mentored my acclimation to the world/profession of science research and publication. It has been both business and fun. The experience I have gained with Dr Bennett has also allowed me to help my fellow students with questions about grad schools as well as research. I too have plenty more to learn, and for now while the semester comes to a close, I wait.
